#StayMatteChallenge Day One

Saturday, August 17

Logging on to Facebook a few weeks ago I saw an ad pop up from Rimmel London to take part in their Stay Matte challenge.
Never one to turn down a free beauty product, I signed up straight away...

There were six shades available, from Light Porcelain  to Natural Beige. I went for Classic Beige as I have a medium coloured skintone.

Three weeks later my foundation sample arrived in the post.
I was really impressed with the size as I was half expecting a tiny 10ml sample to pop through my door, just enough to provide some cover-up for one day.
But a full 30ml sample arrived, so I was excited to test it out.

Day One

I'm braving the foundation on a lazy Saturday as I don't have much to do and was worried that it might be completely the wrong colour for me, making me look like I'd been tangoed!
Squeezing a small amount onto my hand, it looked to be quite a pinky tone.

I don't normally use liquid foundation any more, as I was told my a YSL counter lady that the one I was using was too heavy for my skin. I appreciate that she was trying to sell me a YSL foundation, but instead I switched to Bare Minerals.

But when I applied the Rimmel Stay Matte, with my fave Benefit foundation brush, I found that it glided on quite easily and felt really light on my skin. It gave me great coverage and didn't look too thick or dark (luckily).

By the end of the day the coverage was still going strong and my skin wasn't looking greasy. As I usually get shiny around my T-Zone, even with BareMinerals Matte foundation, I was pretty happy with this.

I'll be testing it out for the rest of the week, but so far so good!
